Dr. Sabina Anokye Mensah

Dr. Sabina Anokye Mensah is the Chief Executive Officer of ANOMENA Ventures, an organization that concentrates on the production and dissemination of improved stoves based in Tema, Ghana.
She is also the National Focal Person for the Gender and Energy Network in Ghana, which works on mainstreaming gender concerns into energy projects.
She has travelled extensively around the world as resource person at various fora for women entrepreneurs; including Resource Person in the Global Gender and Climate Alliance TOT workshop in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Nairobi, Kenya etc. Resource Person in Institutional Gender Mainstreaming and mainstreaming gender concerns into energy projects at the national level.
A published author, she has covered a wide range of topics including the development of biofuel extraction technology at the village level in Ghana, the use of jatropha oil in agro-processing machines of rural women, implementation of two fish smoking projects for women’s groups in the Central and Volta Regions of Ghana etc and has over twenty-four years experience in the technology transfer sector in Ghana.
She is the immediate Past Organizing partner for the UN commission on Sustainable Development – Women Major Group  in New York.

She holds a Ph.D. in Natural Resources and Environment, M (Phil) in Food Science, Post graduate Certificates and a B.Sc. (Hons.) Biochemistry. She has expertise in skills training such as beekeeping, soap production, batik, tie & dye, etc. She is affiliated to the Global Alliance of Clean Cookstoves, Women Action Group on the Environment, the Ghana Science Association etc.
